You’ve heard strangers say it in the street, your friends have mentioned it, and travel shows on TV are pushing it down your throat: “Travel more! Go travel!”. Since when do people start to care about what you’re doing? And why does everyone suddenly think that you don’t like traveling enough? What’s the best way to say “I love you”? Traveling. Okay, this might be a little bit of an exaggeration. But, travel does have a ton of wonderful benefits for everyone who participates: travelers and their family members and friends. And although there definitely are downsides that come with it as well – nothing is perfect. Everyone has to deal with those downsides one way or another, though. Traveling is a human right! If you’ve ever been stuck in an airport, you know that. I’ve been there – but hopefully, it isn’t your case. But whether you prefer traveling to local destinations or you’re interested in traveling the globe, it’s important to have travel insurance.
Traveling Improves Your Health
These days, even the people who have the most stressful jobs recognize the need for some rest and relaxation. Traveling is one of the best ways of reducing stress, anxiety, and distraction from everyday problems. There are lots of studies that have shown traveling can have a positive effect on mental health. Traveling improves your health. Really. It does. Or, at least that’s what a lot of research is claiming; and trust me, there’s been plenty of research in this field over the past decade or so. We’ve gone from 3 million hits when we searched for “travel health”, to 14 million. Hung up a few years ago. So yes: many studies have been done in this area, with varied results. Traveling can be an expensive hobby. However, traveling just once a year to exciting destinations far and wide, or even to new urban hotspots, can be a great way to improve your health.
Traveling Lets You Disconnect From Your Daily Life
It’s not just about sightseeing or exploring the culture and food of a new place. For me, travel is all about getting away from it all, and that’s why I simply love it. Sure, there are times when my head is spinning with daily obligations and deadlines – I can no longer remember if I have written a letter to the plumber, why has my mother-in-law removed me on Facebook, and when will my entry be ready for the Guardian Travel Writing competition? While speaking about the excellent travel blog topics, we can not leave out the well-known quote by Saint Augustine: “The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page.” This quote probably explains why traveling is the best solution to become open-minded.
Traveling Makes You More Interesting
If we travel to various destinations around the world, it gives us a deeper insight into other cultures, makes us more tolerant and accepting of diversity, helps to understand other cultures, lifestyles, and languages. Traveling has opened my mind to other cultures. During my trip to Egypt, my Airbnb host and I went out for dinner. He had been to many different places, the conversation lasted all night long, and I wasn’t bored for one minute. Who do you think people want to listen to the guy who spent his vacations at home doing some gardening and reading the newspaper, or the one who spent a week in Cuba, driving an old American car, swimming with dolphins, and tasting delicious spicy food?
